Surprise, surprise I managed to get this poem done in an afternoon. That’s very rare for me. I’ll read everybody poem tomorrow. I have the 49ers game on. Hopefully they win this game. I want them to go to the Superbowl!
Enjoy!!

And what shall we do?
With these whispering stories of the I
Can they be charmed into the scattering
of the ashes from a funeral pyre?
No,no – can’t do that. For they are
the shards of life, not cutting but lost.
Instinct says goodbye and the heart
urges you to find them and be whole.
Just ignore the coming footsteps of time.
Who like a child, can’t tell time from a clock.
Then again, too bad we can’t be scalded
in the light of God and its white glory too.
Whatever name he or she claims that day.
Something has be higher than a winter’s sun.
Ah yes, turn to another lined paper, letting
the new story become the sister of lies.
One can be blessed and wonderfully forgotten.
by the next time I hold the crescent moon.
I’m sorry I don’t know what “whispering stories of the I” means. I still liked it.
Don’t worry , post a explanation at your blog.
I wondered about that first line as well; but I like how it sounds.
Thanks- Hmm I thought everybody would get the first line. Oh well
Oh I am sure these words would be lifted and charmed … the shards will have been found and sanded into softness. Great how these words come together. Very nice to meet you.
Thank you -I don’t if the shard will be sanded down. a little sharpness in life can be helpful.
This is intriguing and full of imagery. I liked it.
Susannah – Thank you, i tend to fill my poems with lots of images.
Lovely wordle.
Daydreamer – Thank You1

‘Something has be higher than a winter’s sun’ – I like this line.
Thank you! kinda fits the mood of a winter day
Like the back and forth movement in this. We all have stories, it’s the choice of which to tell that makes all the difference. Thanks for stopping by,
Elizabeth

Thanks for coming by — I’m trying to play catch up with return visits…
I like your use of scalded. That was the last of the wordle words to fit into my piece. And I LOVE the last line!
~Paula
Thank you! I thought that would be a different way of using that word.
